dash lights
I turned my lights on last night and had a loud humming noise, as I dimmed the dash lights the noise got less until no dash lights no noise. I found a small black thing under the dash that was doing the humming. I removed the wires and it quit, but so did the lights. I thought I hooked it back up, but I must be missing a wire. There is a spot for 3 and I only have 2. Does anyone know what the little black junction box is and what wires go to it?

I see your profile says 75 is that the year your working on? What color are the 2 known wires?
Guessing but its sounding like maybe the box is one of those aftermarket buzzers to tell you when you left the lights on and if it had a 3rd wire and if the 3rd wire fell off that could be the problem.
