Pipe Expander Use?
I'm installing a Mid America true duals setup on my 78. I removed the old stock setup last night without much of a fight except for the mufflers. I had a heck of a time getting one of the mufflers separated from the pipe on the inlet side. The old clamp had crushed the pipe and made it nearly impossible to remove. With a little patience, I got it removed. I plan to reuse the Dynomax super turbo mufflers because they are in good shape with no rust. My question is can I use an exhaust pipe expander to remove the crush ring caused by the old clamp for a good fit on the new pipe?

Sure. Don't know if you've ever used one before, but you expand the tool to the point it's a little on the loose side in the uncrushed pipe section then hammer the expander through the crush. It's easier if you work the diameter up a little at a time.
