I found an old book that lists the distributor part numbers. I think you're missing a digit in the part number. Is your distributor an 8 cylinfer one and does it have a window in the cap to set the dwell? If it does it's a 57 -up. If no window it's a 55 or 56.
I found a 1110987 which is for a 1962 327 either 250 or 300 hp.
You sure it's not 1110891, this is a common distributor on 1957-1961 cars. It has a long tube with a flipper lid for oil. This distributor was in production a long time, even in to the 80's so a date code could be 62 72 or 82. But the band around it thing has me confused. All the early distributors had a metal plate riveted to them with the part number and production date stamped in it.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but banding did not start until 62.
Double check your part number and post again. I've got the old books to look this up in.
