Gas Problems
No, not the kind frome eating too much leftover turkey!!!
My car has been running like crap lately. Not idling worth a damn, stumbling on acceleration. So after a short ride last week, I stopped at a friends shop to talk about some possible remedies. I figured the usual, timing, carb adjustments, blah blah.
He says to me..."There is nothing wrong with the car!!!" After a bit of discussion, and me explaining that I expected more out of my zz454
He tells me to go get $50 worth of CAM2 from a local Sunoco station. WOW!!!
Turns out he was right. The car is running perfect, and all the symptoms are gone.
The problem, from what he was telling me, is the Ethanol in the gas. Something about the volume of Ethanol and the BTU's it creates.
Has anyone else had similar problems with pump gas??
He is a very accomplished engine builder and really knows his stuff, so he is going to get me some fuel additive to use that he uses in everything he runs, including his blown street rod.
When I get a chance to use it, I will post my results, if anyone is interested. He says it is a WHOLE lot cheaper than CAM2 but it won't smell as good!!!
