Check out "Speed City" parts. Look on this forum under parts for sale. I purchased one of their Distributors w/tach drive several years ago and it works fine.

I used the same Dragon Fire. Works great. It even had the tach drive built in.

i had the dragon fire as well.

it ran great however it wouldnt fit under my stock ignition shielding so i put the points back in.

supposedly the 74 and up shield will fit but since didnt really need it i let it go.

Make sure the power lead is 12V. Points distributor power will come from a resistor wire that drops the voltage. If you use that, it won't function properly. You need to remove it and run a standard wire.

I have a MSD tach drive distributor and it was a noticable difference than the my old stock unit that had been rebuilt by a
guy who is considered very good.

Is there ANY HEI distributor that will fit under the shielding? my dizzy cam is really worn in my 454 and I have had thoughts of replacing this with aftermarket but really want to keep the shield in place if possible.

Use 1975 box&lid (not 74) shielding for TDHEI ... but if you use spiral core wires there's no need for it other than aesthetics.

Also look at Mallory TDHEI p/n 7564501C ... it's over $400 but appears higher quality than fleabay asian dragons.
