My brake light on the dash came on when I stopped at a light.
Brakes feel fine. no soft pedal, no noise.
I checked the fluid level and the front was a little low, so I topped it off.
I can't find anything wrong, but the light is still on.
any suggestions?
You have a leak or a little air in the system providing your emergency brake is not on by a couple notches. The light senses a difference in pressure front to rear.
It is possible that you have a bubble in your brake system picked up by the pressure differential switch. Take your vehicle to a safe location, speed up to 35-45mph and stand on your brake pedal. The light should go off. If it is electrical, you can unplug the connector at the switch to see if the light will go off. The pdf switch is located on the driver's side. Just follow the brake lines from the master cylinder.

Pull the wire off the pressure diff valve and see if the light goes out. If it doesn't, then the e-brake switch is closed. If it goes out, then the diff valve switch has tripped and you will need to determine why.
Would this apply to a 69 also ? I have the same problem, light won't go out. Pretty sure the ebrake is fully disingaged as the light dims but doesn't completely go out when it's the ebrake is off.
