exhaust idea?
well now that i got my new 453hp afr head small block im thinking about a new exhaust. currently i have flowtech headers into flowmaster 40 series mufflers, i like it but i was thinking about a change. has anyone ever used 2 glasspacks bolted to the headers with 2 turndown tips right off the muffler? i cruise my vette once a week and could care less about mileage or sound requirements. i thought it was a cheap way to get free flowing exhaust and take some additional weight off the car. what do u think? and yes i know it will be loud!!! thanks

My opinion only and remember you asked for it. I would not do it. You sound like you have a good free flowing exhaust system. The glass packs sound like crap and to have them dumping right under the car would be worse. The HP if any gained would be minimal. Sometimes glass packs are even more restrictive then a good exhaust system. As you can see I am not a fan of glass packs.

well, my exhaust pipes were not mandrel bent and its only 2.5 in pipe. have you ever heard the Borla round mufflers? i think they are a glasspack design? im with you about the sound of the old "cherry bomb" but i was hoping to find something different. any ideas
