1980 Vette T Tops
I wondered about the T-tops, not wheither they were standard eqiupment or not but the painted ones and the glass ones. We must have gotten the Double optional T-tops. We didn't realize it until I really cleaned it up but the T-tops are two different colors. Which leads me to a hint I give everyone,"Never buy a car after the sun sets". You will miss stuff like that. You have to be standing over it to see the difference but it still one of those jacka__ things we do when we try to trust strangers.
Thanks for all your help with ours,

). We did buy it in the winter time too. I got this car for my wifes 25th anniversary present and I knew it would probably have things that were not like they should be, and I was right. I am very thankful though for just being able to do that for her. I fixed a lot of the little things and the car cleans up pretty good. We enjoy it and realize we are truely blessed to be able to just own one. We were truely blessed before we got this car, even though it is taking a lot of effort/time/ money to get it like it should have been. There is a part of me that appreciates the fact that the guy sold us the car and not someone that the issues it has would be a nightmare. I believe that everything that is man made can be made better, and I am fixing things like that on this car now. We re-built the engine. The only thing that is not new is a very few items. The engine harness was almost ready to go from the way someone had taken a piece of wire and connected it to the car right below where it go into the firewall. It had rubbed through the plastic and almost into the wires,
. If I could post a picture in here I would show you where all the C-3 owners could check theirs before the wiring causes major issues, including fire extinguisher. I have still got the old harness, if anyone would like to see it. This a learning experience for me on the Corvette. Thanks for all the help I get in here,Have a great day,

You didn't mention whether your 2 different colored tops are glass or painted.
There are a number of different glass tops for 78-82 Corvettes. Original 78-80 glass tops were made with LOF (Libby, Owens, Ford) glass and are marked "Blue" and "Laminated" at the LOF logo. The regular 81-82 glass tops were made by LOF also, but were marked "Solid Tempered" and didn't list a color. The 78-80 blue tops have a noticable, blue tint to them. The 81-82 glass tops are more silver in appearence. The change to tempered glass was made because GM was having conciderable breakage problems in producing the laminated tops. There were also "Bronze" marked tempered LOF tops produced, these came standard on the 82 Collector Edition cars (the 82 CE cars and the 78 Pace Cars were the only 78-82's that came standard with glass tops).
Aftermarket tops come in a number of different forms. The 78-82 factory replacement tops came with PPG (Pittsburg Plate Glass) glass. These are usually closer to the LOF tempered tops in color. Aftermarket tops are also available in black glass and various colored tints in acrylic plastic.
Painted solid tops come in 2 types, the 2 handle 68-77 tops and the single handle 78-82 tops.

One of them looks a bronze color the other looks to be a silverish color. They are probably from who knows where. They are not the biggest issue we are dealing with right now. Way down the list actually. I have a friend coming by to help me get the engine wiring harness connected to the firewall. When we get that right, get the brakes done we will be getting closer. Still our car seems to be in original conditional as far the motor, until I got a hold of it. Still has all the original stuff on the outside for the most part, it will be much quicker and faster.
Sounds like you have your list of things to fix in the correct order.
Safety stuff comes first... It will not matter what color your tops are if you have a fire because of the wiring or brakes don't work properly.
Good luck with your car.
