on 76 w/350 what is the route of the 2 small vac. hoses on base of air filter?
where does the line that originates at therm control land on base of air filter, inside or outside? what is correct vac. source for the other?
Thanks
If I understand what you describe correctly, you are asking about the two lines that connect to the thermo sensor in the air cleaner base. One line goes to an unported vaccum source (the small fitting at the rear base of a qjet sticking at an angle), the other goes toward the front scoop of the air cleaner to operate the fresh air/preheated air flapper. Both route outside/under the air cleaner base.
Yes, the 2 v lines that connect to the therm sensor.
I purchased this car with lots of missing and incorrect installed parts, including the air filter assembly. This car came with a Carter, which I'm hoping to get some life from b4 going back to a Holly.
I was going to use one the existing vac lines for 1 side of the sensor, just not sure which would be best; then where this line would land on the sensor, with the other going to the preheater.
Thanks
Thanks.
I was going to install a T into vac line that originates from base of carb that will share with the diverter valve for air pump. I need the air pump to pass smog in my county.
Would you share a pic of how the air filter scoop attaches to the rad. shroud? I can't figure out how it installs. I'm thinking I have the incorrect shroud or am missing a part.
Thanks
I believe the therm sensor is just a switch so it doesn't matter which connects to what. On mine, the inboard connection goes to the flapper, the outboard connection goes to the vac source.
Do you have the scoop that attaches to the shroud?
Yes.
I'm just not certain if I have all the correct stuff. I purchased this car from a guy who must have done most the work drunk. Since, he left many parts off.
49 Federal is a term for a car manufactured for 49 of the states. Therefore not available in California but meets the Federal Emission Standards. Mine was originally made for Colorado. (high altitude). Traveled to Detroit MI. I purchased it and had it shipped to CA. Therefore it only needs to meet the manufactures Federal 49 standards. Hence no smog pump. If you would like any photos to help you achieve your original setup I will help in anyway possible. Tell me the photos you need and I will send you whatever shots you need. BUT. it will differ slightly without the A.I.R pump.
