Today I took apart my clock out of the 78 to see why it isn't working. The nut was so tight on the back I almost ruined the printed circuit board, hopefully I didn't. I tried loosening the nut and it wouldn't budge then suddenly it started moving back and forth. I grabbed the little steal barrel part of the contact with a small pliers and broke the nut free. I then found an old post and thread on taking apart the clock and commenced to doing so. Once I had the thing apart I found the glass was broke, the main power contact and coil was all loose, basically the whole inside guts look shot. Evenmore, nothing appears to turn but I'm guessing this is because stuff is in a bind.
So I'm looking to replace the clock. I don't care to spend upwards of $100 on this little thing so I'm wondering if the quartz conversion kit comes with all new guts to replace the busted stuff I have now. It looks like it all comes new on the little pic at the willcox site but I wanted to know for sure maybe from someone who has used this kit before.

Thanks
I used the quartz conversion on my clock when I did the interior in mine, four years ago.... it still holds perfect time.
And yes, it more or less is a drop-in replacement for the OEM guts.
Even if you broke off the old stud as long as you have the metal can, the hands and the clutch you have enough to build a new clock with the conversion kits.
did my 76 last week, took about an hour. My kit came with a video which was helpful. The hard part is getting the little keepers that hold the clock to the base plate.
