Default Need Help

My Corvette is a 1971.

This has to do with the wiring going to the heater blower and it's capacitor. The capacitor should be mounted on the blower case, which can be seen behind the expansion tank in the engine bay. It has a wire coming out of each end and there are two black wires that attach to it or the blower ground terminal. One of the two black wires comes from the windshield wiper motor and the other goes to the starter brace to act as a ground. These two wires were disconnected and the capacitor was gone. I need to know what the two black wires connect to and/or I need to know what the two wires on the capacitor connect to. In other words, how is the blower wired excluding the orange wire? Does anyone know?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

What year? If memory serves, the capacitor is only there to cut possible radio interference from the whine of the blower motor. With the blower fan on, are you getting radio interference?

The blower motor capacitor had molded plugs that matched the connector in the wire harness for blower motor power and the other end plugged directly on the blower motor power connector. The capacitor had a forked mounting bracket that mounted to the blower motor mounting screw that had the flat spade terminal for the ground connection.

If you have the AIM for your vehicle it's shown in the radio and capacitor section towards the back of the AIM.

The capacitors were installed to kill any radio noise in the AM band.

Mike, it's a 1971.

As for the interference, I actually don't know if there was static, but my primary reason for wanting things right is just to have things right.

Fordman, in the post below, gave me what I need.
