Where can I get this part?
should obviously be another piece of insulation extending toward the engine.
There is about one foot of exposed area that needs to be covered (attaching clips are exposed) and the piece should be horseshoe shaped to fit around the drivetrain. Can anyone help! If I dont find this part now I wont be able to install it later without pulling the engine.

Check with The Last Detail, ZIP, Eckler's, MidAmerica or Dr. Rebuild. If you can't find it from any of those sources it simply dosn't exist.
Good luck.
semicircular cutout for the drivetrain. I checked out the firewall insulation kit
but that does not look correct.

The part number for the foam collar is ZIP-ZM-2548, it is a stiff gray foam cut like a big "U" A buddy of mine bought one, We then traced it out on to some scrap 2" thick stiff packing foam, and cut out several more for all the guys around here that need them.
There was another form of underbody insulation found on some 69 Corvettes. It was held in place by 17 clips like the transmission tunnel insulation. It ran on either side of the transmission to up to the bottom of the firewall. It is about 5/8" thick foil backed stiff fiberglass insulation. I ran back along the entire floor under the seats. On top of this was a couple of metal plates that ran from the bottom of the firewall to the floor brace under the car.
The insulation is available from Zip also, http://store.yahoo.com/zipproducts/zip-m-343.html
The metal shields are at http://store.yahoo.com/zipproducts/zip-su-530.html they require some brackets that zip also sells.
I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but if your car had it, you will have a bunch of pronged clips on the bottom of the car.
