Well it has been slow progress but I am starting to see some improvement. The glass work is done and the panel has been smoothed with 180 grit using a guide coat. I have some sandable primer on it now to keep it sealed up.
Next step is the PPG DP primer sealer and then a thin layer of evercoat. Block sand, K36 primer surfacer, guide coat sanding and then finallt PAINT!!!!!!

Did you reinforce the repair with matting and resin? Also, it is not a good idea to put fiberglass filler over paint. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but that repair may not last.

The pictures at the begining are a little mis leading, All paint was removed from and around the repaired area, Resin and mat was used on both the outer and inner fender around the repair....... There is a lot of work that was done that is not shown by the photos.
Not thinking you are a jerk I know it kinda looks as you descibed.
It just looks like there's black paint under the filler. I just didn't want your repair to backfire on you. It looks great in the primer stage.
I should have used these to start off. You probably do see a little black paint under the far sides of the repair but that was all sanded off and was not where the actual resin and mat were used.
