hey guys just wondeirng if its possible to get lowering front coils for a 75 vette? i know u can cut them but im trying to avoid that as my last option possible.
I bought the front coilovers from vansteel... The springs where to long at first but they ended up sending me shorter springs that got the car where I wanted it.. They are really good people to work with! I'm sure you know but for the back you can just get longer spring bolts to lower it.. Good luck!
You can. It's the Big Block 550 lb coils. They will lower your car 1 inch in the front without any cutting of anything as compared to your OEM coils.
Im taking the 460lb aftermarket coils my car came with and cutting another 1/4 turn, so I'll have 3/4 turn overall cut off the top of the coil and I'll have lowered the front maybe 1.5 inches.
Just be sure to get your upper coil end fully seated in the top pocket when you reassemble.
wow Evete thats very nice, love the rims to, they torque thrusters?.... how much of a total drop have u done also ?
MN-Brent...
whats the differance between the 550 and 460.thought the 460s were closer to the f-41, and also they both say they drop 1" im thinking that one is just stiffer then the other? correct me if im wrong..?
Yes they are torque thrust 2's.. Honestly I don't know how much the car dropped from stock but I'm sure it is a lot! These mid seventy's vettes always sat way up in the air.. drove me nuts!

550 lb coils are what the aftermarket supplies for F41 replacement. they are known by design to lower your front end, even if you have a smallblock.
Contrast to that, the 460 lb coils have been known to raise your front end as compared to OEM smallblock coils. The OEM coils are 10 turn and the aftermarkets are closer to 7 turns.
The newer coil spring "technology" designs results in springs which dont have to compress as much to get the rate and ride heights needed. According to the Van Steel video, the big block springs are easier to install becasue they are shorter uncompressed.
I'll be on my 3rd install of my 460 lb coils after I cut some more out of them. Getting the ride height you want is trial and error if your cutting. 550 lb rate is too high for me. I subscribe to the Guldstrand school of thought with letting your tires work with the road with a slightly softer spring. I'll end up with about 3/4 turn cut total.

Thanks. I’m still not sure, but at this point I think I will try to cut. Cheaper option is best right now
