71 a/c heater control on consol

71 a/c heater control on consol
Orginal four seasons control for a/c and heater.
The red position indicators under the glass in the control have come loose. When you roll the wheels the indicators do not move.
I have removed the control from the consol. On the bench I took out the four bolts/screws and I cannot get the top off to look at how the indicators are attached.
1. Are there other fasteners?
2. Is it possible to repair this problem?
3. How can I repair or replace the problem?

For unknown reasons, I am thinking there are two, tiny, Phillips head trim screws on the top of the bezel. Those could be a '68 only thing.

The problem with the needles. . .they get brittle. When this happens, the little ears that hold the needle on the string break. You can glue them to the string if you needed or we have them used in stock.
