'68 headlights
I hope everyone had a great Christmas!!
I own a '68 427 400HP coupe. My low beam headlights quit working. They were working as of two weeks ago. High beams work fine with the low beams working when I toggle on the high beams. When I toggle off the high beams, the low beams quit working. All other lights work, tail, license plate, brake, etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

take a tester to the lights, see if you're getting power to the lights. if you are, it's the lights. if not, track backwards toward the switch (most likely cause, considering your symptoms) and see if the switch is providing power to the low beam circuit when the highs are on.

I agree, check the bulbs first!
Then check the teal color wire right where the low beam headlamp plugs in too! The connector at the back of the lamp is a slit connector with two wires one for the bulb and one to feed the other side. If the wire is broken before the bulb it will not feed power to either low beam lamp when on high beam.
Next: Pull the connector from the dimmer switch and make sure it is working. You can probe both the teal and the green wires to see if the switch is working.

Thanks for the info, very helpful. I'll test first to see if getting power to low beam, then work back to dimmer switch and to light switch if required.
