on 76, 350, at, ac. The fuse link that comes from fuse box into eng. compartment under the brake MC, that is orange (14g ?) into link then goes to black (12g ?) The orange wire is fried.
I'm going to get a new link tomorrow. Can I use a butt connection with the existing orange wire from the box inside the engine compartment? The wire still look solid.
I'm not sure how to make the connection into the fuse box from the engine compartment. Is this as difficult as it looks?
Suggestions?
Thanks
I would solder and heat shrink tube the wire and not use butt connector. If you need to replace the wire to the fuse block take out the connector and go to your parts store if they dont have it go to a gm dealer and they will have one their.
Go to the Chevy Dealer. They will get the exact wire ( fuselink) you need to replace it. They don't sell to much of it anymore. The parts manager give me all I needed. I agree with the solder and heat shrink too.
Have a great day,

Thanks.
I put an inline fuse in with solder and heat shrink. Not too bad a job just a small work space. I tested and have cond. on both sides of the reconnect.
Now I need to figure out why I can't get the starter to crank. Which it did b4 the fuse link went.
