You'll need to drop your compression down to 8.5-9.0 otherwise you won't be able to run more than about 2 lbs. boost. You'll need to "boost reference" your carb plus change the jetting...if your running a 3310 Holley (750 Vacuum secondaries) I can dial you in when you get to that point. Call the wrecking yard for hoods, I found 4 or 5 in the Portland area when I did mine...pricing ranged from $150-250.
BADCAIMAN, i checked out your belair pics last night.....just wanted to say that motor looks awesome!! You must get some serious power out of that!
Hey guys...
How long does a roots blower last miles wise? with not to many rev limiter bounces... well a few... okay okay alot?
Roots blowers have a very long life. Alot of diesel trucks run them. Seal life is actually shortened if you don't drive the car regularly.
I also agree you have to reference the power valves off the blower. Don't try to run these things without a power valve by jetting rich. I have a 8-71 bigblock and get consistant 12 mpg in town.
Good luck and you will love the low end torque
