Auction on Speedvision
Anyone watch the car auction on speedvision last night ? Did you see what kind of prices the Vette's were bringing? 67K for a 67 427. 62 K for a 63, 110K for a Yenko Camaro. There is suppose to be 5 more hours this evening.

This has always been a great auction to watch. I saw a 58 Chevy Bel Aire Convertible go for $80k, I think that was the price. Unbelievable to me.

I watched for a little while. Saw the Yenko Camaro go for 110000. All that for a car that cost around 6K new. It is still just a Camaro. That is a lot of money. I guess it is now like a piece of artwork that just goes up in value. I 'd be afraid to drive it.

If you go to the barrett-jackson web site you can look up what cars went for in past year auctions. Actually, except for the really rare cars the Vettes don't do so great, i've seen better at Vette show auctions where everyone there is a Vette fan. I looked back a year or two and saw a 454 bumper car with NCRS Top Flight go for 25k, a little less than you would expect to say the least. Also saw 72 LT-1 with air go for a lttle over 17k (no reserve), way under market and another 72 LT-1 frame off restored and documentedfor about 26k. These cars bring way more at a Vette show auction.
