Anyone know if these piston numbers are for the same engine? We have 7 pistons with a number L2307A standard. 1 piston is 7040P standard. These were found in a box at a rummage sale.
Thanks,
Willie

L2307A should be trw forged tall dome popup for big block chevy 454 w/ open chamber heads. Dome volume +50cc. With 119cc chamber, +12:1 scr.
I am not having any luck on the 7040P number. They both have a ribbed skirt unlike the GM #396355 LS7 piston.
I assume 7040P & 2307 look same. I see some references say 7040P same as L2308 ... some say measures same as 2307 ... does your 7040P look like 2307? and does each one have pin in same height position in regard to oil ring?
454 should have pin about .115"-.117" higher (closer to oil ring) than in 427 piston

FM says 2307 for 454 as above
clevite says 7040P interchanges to clevite 2241802 ... clevite says 2241802 also for 454.
if they look same & measure same ... they're probably for same motor.
