I dont know exactly but my brother and I just loaded mine on a trailer a couple of months ago. I would guess in the 300 pound range. Two healthy men can easily handle it.

I agree you can wrestle one around by yourself but after it is painted you will need two to keep from scratching it.

Thanks everyone, that's what I needed to know. A forum member is selling me a frame, it still has the front suspension parts on it though.

I wanted to make sure I can manuver it around to get it home in the back of my truck.

Default a thought

a previous post with real world recent frame lifting experience says 300 pounds.

my pure guesswork is that the front end portion, if complete, would add almost 100 more pounds. That makes approx 400 as a decent estimate.

IF I had to rig it, I'd want two non-anemic helpers.

just a FYI, trying to be constructive......

Yup.

The control arms, disks, calipers, etc adds up QUICK.

Not to mention the fact that...you know.....it's big, and stuff.

I mean, my couch weights maybe 150 pounds, but I sure as hell can't carry by myself, you know?

Depending on what you're transporting it with, it may actually be better to have the front suspension in place. While sandblasting /welding/painting my frame, I used to pick the frame up by the rear, and roll it in and out of the garage by myself. And I'm not exactly one of those big guys on ESPN pulling trucks. Knowing I was replacing all the bearings and such anyway, I wasn't much worried about beating the stuff up with the sandblasting, though I would cover it anyway.

I have a bare frame. Well actually now it's not so bare. I've got a bare engine block, bell housing, transmission on it, fuel tank, brake lines, front suspension, etc.

The bare frame weighs just about exactly 300 pounds. If I remember correctly it might be something like 290 pounds.

With one person you can move it around. I put a mechanics creeper or furniture four wheel dolly on one end, pick up the other and can scoot it around. Also, if you haven't got a finish paint job, you can tumble, or roll it over, and move it.

With two people, it gets a lot easier to move.

Thanks guys, it's going to be a used frame so i'm not worried about dragging it around for now. Just wanted to make sure I can manuver it around to get in my truck and drag it off when I get home.

I'm excited, I did a total body on resto, but realized my frame was tweaked after the fact. My car is still drivable, just doesn't track as good as I would like.

At least now I can play with the frame while I'm driving my car, I always wanted to do a jeep gearbox retrofit. Maybe next winter do the swap.
