Trailing Arm/wheel spindle alignment help
I have disassembled and rebuilt completely both my trailing arm assemblies. Last piece I am working on is the trailing arm bushing. Great threads on the forum for this task as it appears to be one of the most difficult. I am about to assemble the wheel spindle assembly to the trailing arm and have one question which I cannot find any information on
What is the relationship between the wheel spindle assembly and the trailing arm? Is the lower housing perpendicular to the centerline of the trailing arm bushing and the centerline of the spindle hole in the trailing arm? I cannot find any diagram which shows this relationship.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mark
I have re-built both front and rear suspension on my 79. I found the local alignment shop had no idea, how to align the front and rear
of a 79. I ended up going to a performance alignment shop that did race cars and race Corvettes. It cost a little more it was worth it. They set up the alignment, and matched it to the 17” tires, changes made in the suspension (VBP) and how I wanted to drive and use the car. Have had no problems very pleased.
Suggest you find a Performance alignment shop that has the
experience, and equipment to do the alignment. Spend the extra bucks,
you do not want to skimp.
