Default Seatbelt

Will not go across my lap.The shoulder portion retracts and will come out,but can't get the lap portion out/seems is only as long as it is.Is there something I'm over looking or need a new (longer?) belt?

If the lap belt is the only part not working there is a retractor under the seat as well as the one on the rear deck.

Sounds like your lower retractor is in need of repair or replacement.

What year is your car, and did it quit working or is this new to you???

This is what you will find. Take time to remove all bolts and re-install with anti-seize.

The retractor can be lubed with WD40 and metal polish will clean up the brightwork.

A little Krylon finishes the job.

The belt should be outboard of the guide bar!! Fixed after photo.

And you're good for another 34 years!

I have a 75 and noticed that when I was recarpeting, there wasn't a "retractor cover" on the driver side. There was only one on the passenger side. Is this correct on a 1975 vette? or should both sides have this cover? Thanks.

I'm not certain about the 1975. My 1974 has covers on both sides.

One little project from last summer. I tend to take pics in anticipation of a later need/help here.
