Just completed installing my new leather to the back of one seat. It looks and smells great. But there is one problem. For 30 bucks they should provide enough metal rods and clips for the entire two seats. They advertise that the kit has more than enough to complete the job.
My question is: Has anyone used coat hangers to place in the binding strips to receive the clips and hog rings? I went to the local hardware store and purchased a piece of wire but it is not the right gauge. Too heavy.
I got my kit from Corvette America, but I assume it's the same joke they're all peddling. I used coat hangers too, the gold ones. Also re-used some of the old rods for under the foam to hold the springs. I spent more $$ on cheesier parts I guess. Live and learn.
I can't remember where I got mine but everything was there. before I got on the case of a company you have to keep something in mind: this kit was probably put together by a manufacturer and sold to them as a distributor for resale. No telling what care the individual packing that bag took. The reseller isn't taking kits apart, counting them and reslling them. I'll bet most would help you if you told them what was wrong. Let'snot start picking on resellers - unless of course it's the Doctor
