Default 360 spring and sport shocks installed

well i did this the day before yesturday, took me a LONG time because i was doing it at my friends house and he didnt have some of the tools i needed... half way thru the medium size socket wrench crapped out on me...

i did most of the work myself. my friend helped me with one shock and removing the old spring. ride hight looks good to me.. im to lazy to take the car cover off so ill just show you guys the goodies.. didnt see a heat shield with my spring so i just wrapped my pipes, im going to paint the warp black later. still gotta cut the metal straps but i left my tools back in SJ... overall the set up is nice!

Slow down, you're getting ahead of me. I'm going to do a little cleanup and painting before I put mine on. Have you driven it yet? Hows it feel?

it feels really good.. when i put my foot down it keeps its stance. i had painted my pipes black before, seemed like i had enough room away from the spring but i didnt want to risk it.. might paint it later on today if i pick up some exhaust paint on the way to work.. i thought i had some already but i used it all up, nothin but caliper paint left..

ill post some pics tonight or 2morro

its well worth it!

If you back off the nut on the bolts the rear will drop down and the car will sit lower in the back.

The back does look like it's sitting a bit high. As someone mentioned above, you can back the nuts down to lower the rear, just be sure not to lower the end of the spring down too far. If the end of the spring gets even with the sidewall of the tire, it can rip the sidewall of the tire out in nothing flat. (The tires will roll under as you turn corners and hit the end of the spring.)

I had 1" of clearance between the end of the spring and the sidewall of my tire and destroyed an almost new Goodyear Gatorback while autocrossing. I noticed a slight rub mark on the inside of the tires after a few autocrosses but thought nothing of it. But in the middle of one particularly tight turn the sidewall was ripped completely out of one of the tires.

You can also replace the rubber spacer between the spring and rear housing with a thin piece of phenolic material and lower the car some more without lowering the ends of the springs further. Here's a picture of various pieces I found on ebay for sale.

The spacer is supposed to isolate the spring from the heat of the rear. This phenolic material has all of the insulating properties and strength of the spacer and can be considerably thinner. I replaced my 1" spacer (insulator) with a 1/4" piece of phenolic and lowered the car another 3/4" without lowering the ends of the spring.

Good luck... GUSTO
