Well tonight I noticed that when I was below 20mph the speedometer was jumping a bit. I went for about a 50 mile ride and before i got home I looked down and the speedometer was on 0 not working. The odometer was still working and one out there that can give some advice on my problem.
Thanks
Odds are, if your odometers are still turning, the problem may be in the speed cup in the mechanism. Possibly the shaft that holds the needle came loose, something in there is preventing the speed cup from turning, the hair spring came loose and is binding up....etc.
Unfortunately you may have to get it out of the car and have someone take a look inside to diagnose what's causing it. Let me know if I can help with any questions you may have.

This is unusual, normally the odometer stops first and then it takes out the speed cup.
If the odometer is still turning the first worm and magnet are still turning. This first worm and magnet is what drives the magnetic field that propels the speed cup. My guess is that the first worm and magnet bushing is worn out and it cocked just enough to catch the speed cup.
Did the needle slam? Is the speedometer making any tinning noise?
Gldnkngt is right the speedo will have to come out to repair it. The damage is already done so leaving it for a while won’t hurt anything either.
Thanks you all like I said I noticed the speedometer jumping a bit a low speed 20mph and i did hear a slight clicking. I remember reading somewhere that the transducer could cause some speedometer problems. Could this be that??
Try this. Unhook the speedo cable at the transducer. (the end that goes to the speedo) hook up an electric drill to it and slowly run the drill to see if the needle on the speedo moves. If it does, the problem is in the transducer or the lower cable.
I omitted the transducer and just ran a longer cable up from the transmision to the speedo.

If your tranducer is bad, your entire speedo will not work, including the odometer.
So if what you say is wrong with my speedometer I can still repair mine and what parts will I need and what will the cost be? Anyone out there know.
Thanks
Yes the transducer could cause this problem. The ticking noise you hear is it coming from inside the car? I'm not sure you have a transducer problem, you may want to try by-passing the transducer.
But if the odometer is working and the speedo is not, there is a problem in the speedometer! No question about it! The odometer can not turn without the needle moving unless there is a problem in the speedometer.
So I have a problem with my speedometer because the odometer is working fine. I looked at a break down drawing of the speedometer and I'm thinking it is the speed cup? I see nothing else listed that would cause this but where can I get the part to fix it? Zip, Wilcox, where?
Thanks
Did you bypass the transducer? This is still not the norm and it’s usually the other way around.
You can't purchase the speed cup alone. If you did this you would still have to install it and then re-calibrate the speedometer.
If you have the speedometer out, we will test this for you for free and let you know what the problem is. If the problem is in the speed cup or the head, I’m afraid the only way you can get this fixed is to send it in to either our shop or a shop of your choice.
I have all cables off the transducer the top goes to the speedometer right? And if I put a drill on the cable which way do I turn it forward or reverse? Is everything here mechanical no electric to it right?
