Anyone have any source for a new seat belt warning light switch - my thernal switch no longer turns off automatically and pressing seat belt light occasionally creates a spark "not a good thing" - Have not seen part in any of the parts houses, Eckler, Paragon, Central, MidAmerica etc
Are you sure your car has a thermal switch? Not really sure what you are asking here? In January of 72, GM went to a seat belt warning light that was based on pressure in the seat. Prior to that, at least on my 72, the light was on a timer and went out after a few seconds. If you are getting a spark at the light on the center console, why not take it out, clean the grounds and contacts, and ensure that there aren't any visible defects in the light itself.
Do you have the Assembly Instruction Manual? It will show in detail what you have connected to the seat (if anything) and what is on the dash. There are several reputable suppliers of used parts and if you find that you need a new light or something like that, e-mail me off line and I will give you the name of a guy I have bought some parts off of. Very knowledgeable guy.

Re: 69 Seat Belt Warning Light (GaryS)
On my 70 I have to reach up and push the seat belt warning light. It has never cut off on its own. Should it? It has a little relay inside that picks up any time the key is turned on. If I don`t reach up and turn the light off it stays on all the time. Am I missing something?
As far as I have been able to tell, the seat belt warning light does not cut off automatically. It is deactivated by the pushbutton under the light on the center bezel. It has worked this way on all the 69 model cars I have seen.
All 69s have the manually activated switch to turn the light off once the key is inserted. Check with your local GM dealer; the switch may still be available. If not Zip or Corvette Central have replacements.
Hi
Same on my 68 , Eddie 96 .
My light didn't turn off when I pushed the switch and this was simply because
the pushbutton didn't physically open the relay's contact.
Was an easy fix.
No automatic cut off !
