Looking to purchase a C3 vette. Today I looked at 3 cars. I'm 6'1'' tall. The first one was a 71 454 coupe, sitting in the car the wheel was on top of my legs. The next one was a 73 350 vert, the wheel was higher off my legs. The next was a 72 350 coupe the wheel was even higher off my legs. None of these cars had a tilt wheel, all had factory seats, do these cars vary this much or is there a adjustment on the steering colums? Thanks for any info....
If it doesn't have tilt one thing that could change is the density of the foam seats. The angle of the column from the steering box to the bottom of the dash could change if the body mounts have compressed over time. There could be some other factors that I don't know of.
What about the possibility of an aftermarket steering wheel that looks stock. There are several different sizes out there 13” 14” 15” and a 68 came with a huge steering wheel.
This is a pic of my car with a 14” aftermarket wheel and it freed up a lot of room.
EDIT>>>>is it possible the cars you sat in could have had an aftermarket wheel...Thats what I was getting at.

I have a 71 bb and put new foam on seats and the steering wheel is on top of my legs. It is a tight fit.
