Default My 68 Project!

Heres some pics of my project 68 427/400 coupe maroon with std interior and 4 speed.

I have my new glass being shipped this week from Sermersheims Hood surround, LH fender, LH wheel well thats for starters I had them start on the parts back while I was still in Iraq

I need to get some better pics but its has been raining and I dont want to remove my tarp just yet windshield is broken and I have been busy painting some bike parts for my buddy so Vette had to sit outside.

But heres the question where do I start with this what do you think....

I do have some windshield corrosion that I need to deal with and there is a little bit of fiberglass damage to the fire wall where the harness comes out of the body. I am planning on removing the hood surround the LH wheel well and leaving the RH fender attached.

check em out and Ill get some more pics! and I know I will have a ton of questions because I have not played with a C3 yet but I am not afraid of diving in! I have done my home work just looking for some personal prospectives on this job

First of all, thank you for serving our country! Now, about the car. The damage I see extends all around the front. Your hood looks ok, but may have damage to the hinge mounts and corners. With the time and money you will invest in getting that mess fixed, I recommend getting a new front clip. Keep the hood and fix it.

tired of parting ZR-1s nah its fun, need a LT5 I have 2 of them!

What I want to do is get the nose installed before I really dig into it but I need to get that nose off first, I also have windshield rust that needs attention and I need to do that before I do the nose incase I need to get under the fiberglass.

my nose parts will be here next week

Im still trying to clear up ZR-1 parts at the moment so I have room for this work haha

Default More work

It might be more work than you're looking to do, but it probably would be good to remove the whole front clip and when you do that, assess the birdcage and windshield rust while it's off. Get that all nice and fixed and then put a new clip on.

The front clip is comming off just so I can replace the hood surround and other damaged glass, so Thats what I was looking at, The only pieces that I wouldnt have to remove would be the RH fender and wheel well but I might remove them anyway to deal with the rust I have.
