waterpump assembly
Took the long style waterpump off my GMPP ZZ383 to replace with the the GMPP short pump. Looked to me as if all that was used at factory when mounting original pump, was a little gasket tack and the gaskets, a bit of thread sealer on the bolts. Gaskets on long pump peeled right off in one piece. Is this sufficient to prevent leaks?

If the mating surfaces are clean and the bolts torqued right that should work fine. Sometimes you get a stubborn one but there is usually a reason. I always use a very thin layer of gasket seal on both sides and a llittle silicone on the bolt threads, no problem
