control arm installation

I am ready to put the control arms back on my 75 after replacing the bushings. Can the bolt that connect the cross shafts be torqued to spec with the car in the air still? Also, can you torque the lower control arm cross shaft bushing bolts to spec with it in the air? I know you are suppose to torque the upper bushing bolt to spec with the car at ride height but didn't know about the lower ones. Thanks for your help.

Yes you can do that, brace your foot against the frame and pull against the frame instead of pulling the car off the jacks. Be carefull

I wouldn't torque the upper or lower crosshaft end bolts till the car is sitting on the ground at ride height.

Exactly, just snug them them down while in the air, but make sure the car is sitting at ride height before torquing.

You can torque poly bushings, but the manual recommends you torque rubber bushing with weigh of the vehicle on the tires.
