I know, but from looking at it, and it's dimensions, I think they would FIT fine.

What I DON'T know, is if these will bolt up to the stock heads on a 76'. I know that the el camino of similar years has the same basic motor, as, 9 times out of 10, when looking up oil filters, I have to use the ones made for the elcaminos.

But if someone knows more or better, let me know...

Yep they will bolt to the heads just fine. The exhaust pattern will be the same up through '96 for sure, and some thru '00 still used the Vortec heads so those would fit too.

They will bolt to the head.

However, whether they clear the firewall and steering linkage is another matter. Remember, the engine in the Corvette is set back a lot further than other GM cars.

You are much better off going with something like the Dynomax headers designed for the Corvette.

$320 but worth every penny and already ceramic coated. I ran a set for 5 years before I went to sidepipes. Note how the tubes sweep forward from the rear ports and then back. That is why I don't think the shorties will clear the Corvette firewall.

Why is it that no one makes shorty headers for the vette, except for Mc Jacks? I'm sure they are nice, but 600 dollars? For shorties? Really?

Try Sanderson, I think they make some that will fit a Vette.

Be very careful about which headers you buy. I bought a cheap set off Ebay, just to tide me over and get the car running before I put the sidemounts on, that were advertised for a C3. They bolted up to the heads fine, but the driver's side would not clear the Z-bar properly. Now they're sitting in a corner of my garage...and luckily the sidemounts are on.
