I have been working on putting fuel injection on my car and trying to make it look as normal as possible. Now most FI systems require some type of check engine light for diagnostic work. the system had a small bulb in a cylinder that would have had to have a hole in the dash. I thought I wanted something better looking. I knew the 80-82 cars had a computer and some type of light. After some investigation I found that the console had the same type of lens for most of the C3 cars. I thought why not just change out the lens. I do not use the Fasten Seat Belt lens and could use that hole for the check engine light. I had a spare 2 wire light socket. I put a post out to see if anyone had a spare and Bill Harrison, gldnkngt here on the forum came through. He repairs and restores gauges and very nicely sent me the lens at NC. I will be sending him something for his effort. The lens fit perfectly in the console. Now the 80-82 lens has 2 functions and I only needed one. I blacked out the other one, fasten seat belt and am just using the check engine. Here is the results. Not really a big deal but it just looks like it should be there and I have a functioning check engine light.
