I have a 74 with a big block 540ci Dart block motor, I am running an electric water pump and looking for a high output mini alternator around 100amp, which could be mounted as a low mount to clear the electric water pump, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...

I agree the CS144 is a great power upgrade but it certainly isn't 'mini' in fact it's bigger than the SI cases.
However, the CS130 is the little brother to the CS144. It's a 100 amp max alternator, with 60 amps at idle which is very good. Get the right one and it's a direct swap in for your stock alternator once you change the pulley and get a different adjustment bolt for the Metric threads.
You'll need an adapter from Napa for the wiring so you have the resistance the new alternator needs, but it's a very easy swap and it's smaller than the CS144.
space is an issue, the stock size alt does not fit a low mount install, it hits the front frame crossmember and the block, a mini alt (smaller dia) with high amp output is needed...
You may not be aware of this alternator unless you have access to a parts store or service center, But there is a direct replacement 94 amp alternator available at more knowledgeable parts stores or re builders. You dont have to change a thing, bolts directly on and it actually matches the appearance of your old GM except 94 Amp Delco. Zero other parts required.
