Default offenhauser manifolds

Just looking at 360 offy high rise dual carb manifold runners only look to be about 3 1/2 inches long that can't be good.

I have a 1968 Offenhauser catalog and the Port-O-Sonic is prominent. The 360 is 40 year old technology (if you can call it that). Looked good on paper! Makes a good wall hanger in the shop.

I don't want one I was just looking at it even the runner length is to short. I do have offenhausers copy of the chevy cross ram you take a look at it you quickly understand why its a 4500 rpm up manifold.

Really I should say offenhauser and chevy manifold are copies of
what chrysler did with the 413 max wedge.

Good clean fun! I have a few of these old manifolds just for kicks. They make good conversation peices.
The Max Wedge was an awesome engine. The looks alone could make you wet yourself if you lined up next to one at the track.

Ford guys still get a lot of mileage out of the offy 360.

Its a divided single plane that some people still find a use for in circle track racing(divided single planes not the offy).

My large basre tripower is an Offenhauser 360 split single plane. Fits under my hood. I used a 1/2 " spacer under the carbs on top of the 3/4 " nitrous plates. Helps a lot. A big plus is equal A/F distribution. My exhaust temps were within about 5% across the board running on all 3.

Offenhauser drake four cylinder that thing dominated indy car racing forever it had one flaw it used a little more fuel, they changed the fueling rules was the only way they could get rid of it. If you can't beat something get the rules changed.

Had no head gasket engine split right above the height of the crank counterweights, cylinders and head were all made together pintons rods were put in from the bottom then the cylinder/head, piston/rods were mounted to the crank case, rods bolted up to the crank. no head gaskets to blow on it.

Picture of it lying over on its side 15 degrees from being completely
horizontal in the frame.
