I can't say this for a fact, but I have heard that in order to get warranty work out of GM on a ZZ4, it has to be pretty much unmodified and has to be burning a quart of oil every 500 miles or outright break. I think that any of us would tear a motor apart before we burned oil that fast...
Plus the shipping and labor is on you. After talking to a lot of people, I have decided to go local and get good references. Local guys can't afford to have people talking bad about their work so they are more likely to help you when you need it.

I went with the 383. Ordered the kit from Strokerkits.com and they were very helpful. I think I paid about $1200.00 for the kit. I took the kit and my
2-bolt main matching numbers L-48 block to the local machine shop and had them do the work and bolt it together. All in all I had about $2000 - $2500 in it. Not a bad deal and it smokes most anything around. Bid block torque in my original small block engine. Seems like best of both worlds. Good luck.
