Ok dont dog me telling me to search I have and thats why im writing this thread. From what ive gathered this is the shopping/to do list-
-T5 from 90s model stang, can use 94 or later but requires dual spacers
-Bellhousing from 85 half ton chevy (what years will work other then 85?)
-clutch kit consisting of chevrolet flywheel, chevy pressure plate, T5 clutch disc, T5 throw-out bearing and lokar now makes a pilot bearing that adapts chevrolet to ford tranny
-of course a manual pedal assembly
-the master and slave cylinder to match bellhousing
-a hydraulic resevoir (i seen where sombody used one from a civic how was this done)
-a bracket to move the shifter into fac. position
-and last but not least the big ol alumnum slab of an adapter(i really need help on this, sombody plz send me a diagram to how to make this, im good with a local machanist and he can make about anything)
what else do I need to get? any advice would be greatly appreciated
I was looking for something like this myself. So a 90 T5 tranny, any particular car I should favor? I saw a ton of s10 ones for sale. How about a t56 from a camaro or firebird?

dont go for the S10, idk about mounting and all that junk but a 4.3 transmission isnt gonna go good with a v8
if you go with the t56 get one outta a lt1 fbody, all you need is a flywheel that works with the t56 and a 2 peice rear seal, either a new crossmember or a custom one (all you need is a lil L bracket) and a spacer to get the shifter in the right position
I got a Custom T-5 from SKSpeed (2.95 to 0.64). The front is out of a Camaro and the back is out of an S-10 (which puts the shifter in a good spot). I believe the one you are talking about will put the shifer in the non-existant back seat. You will need a flywheel, but I mounted a Muncie/Corvette pressure plate to it and then a Camaro clutch disk - 11 or 10.5 in. will do. If you ever plan on some good power, do not go with a stock T-5. My otherwise stock clutch set up feels fine if you do not want to go with the hydraulic set up. But I believe hydraulic clutches put less load on the tranny if you do go that route. You may also need a new yoke as I don't know what you have now. You may also have to get your driveshaft shortened. I can get nerdy if you need more details, but this was the best mod I've done and I've done some pretty cool ones. I know a lot, but mine fit in almost perfectly, so I didn't have the joy of fabricating any plates.

hmm sounds interesting, but im kinda on a budget here and trying to get by cheap. Ive read about ppl using the mustang transmission and just making an adapter plate to get the input shaft in the right place, everything else was kinda a no brainer.
I bought a Mustang T5 for $450 that worked flawelessly. I got it from Performance Mustang Parts and Salvage just outside Knoxville. They can be contacted at 865-484-1944. the guaranteed the T5 and I couldn't have been happier. There is a list of Ford T5 serial numbers on someone's web site that gives the specs for the different T5s. Be sure to get one rated at or above 300 HP. I used a Honda Civic resevoire. Mounted it beside the brake booster on the firewall above the clutch master cyl. It was an easy hookup and worked great. Almost bleeds itself. If Durango Boy sent you the specs for the adapter plate any machine shop can make it for you. This is a fun and worthwhile project. Good luck with it.
