Did any Corvette magazines exist in the 60s and early 70s? I know that Chevrolet had Corvette Quarterly or an earlier version and that Keepin' Track of Vettes (which later merged into VETTE) existed, but what else was there?
Previous to Corvette Quarterly, GM/Corvette sent to interested Vette owners "Corvette News" - every other month. I contacted them after I got the '62 in 1967 and began receiving them shortly afterwards. I just found my "Treasure" in my file cabinet/car magazine storage. There are 2 USPS (large) "Priority" envelopes. The one that I'm going through - Volume 11, #3, 1968 through 1974 - I'm scanning articles & sending to SuperFast 80 for his "Archives". There are SOOooo many articles, new Vette info, it's mind-boggling! :yesnod: Somebody keeps asking for '76 articles, and I'm sure there'll be a lot in the next envelope ;)
Then they went to Corvette Quarterly and started charging for subscriptions, so I paid for a few years; when they got into touring/sightseeing, I quit.
Keep checking SF's "Archives" and keep voting for him, "Babes" by Sensei, Corvette Forum (500+ votes ahead in 1st place, and Tom's " '73" (my last vote pushed him from #24 to #23. You can vote every hour :) Vote often (just like old Chicago politics :nono: )

Corvette Corner started publishing in Oct. 1975 and stopped in July of 79. Corvette News started in 1957. I'm a magazine collector. Have sets of just about all of them. Blue Bars started in 1962. Thats the magazine of the NCCC. Blue Flame Special started in 69. Vette Vues started in 72. Chuck
Chuck,
Were there any independent Corvette speciality publications back then (am thinking of late 60s and early 70s). Corvette News was a Chevy house production, Blue Bars was a club production. Not familure with Blue Flame Special but it sounds like something dicated to the 53-55 Vettes. Was Vette Vues the first? Then Corvette Corner, Keepin Track of Vettes, and moving on to the current Vette and Corvette Fever. Seem like there would have been more back then.
Blue Flame Special was a club mag, the publication of the old Vintage Corvette Club of America. There was also "Good Times" the publication of the Classic Corvette Club 53-55. That club was the precursor of NCRS. They began publishing in 1970. The NCRS Corvette Restorer began publishing in 1974, the Driveline a few years later.
As far as others....not too many. Other than Vette Vues, the oldest "national" mag, there were Corvette Fever 1978, Corvette Marketplace 1981, Vette Monthly 1976, Custom Vettes 1980, For Vettes Only (NCOA Mag) 1975, Keepin' Track 1976, Vette 1976, Vette Power 1977, Vette Super Shopper 1973, Vette Vantage 1982, and Vette'N USA Newspaper 1976. There was also "The Fiberglass Car Newsletter", but I've never seen an original issue. I have a photocopy of an issue...the only one I've ever seen. I can bore you to death with details on magazines :) Chuck
