Default neutral/back-up switchs on conversion???

Ok whats the best approach to having a neutral saftey switch and back up lights on my muncie 4-speed conversion? The donor pedal assembly I got has one of the switches still on it. The auto shifter and I assume the wiring is still in place in the console.

Neutral saftey switch, that would be the clutch pedal, the switch on the pedal bracket is starter lock-out where clutch pedal has to be depressed in order to start car but, you Vette dosen't have that in it's wiring harness, that is in the neutral saftey switch in the console shifter. I bypass my clutch lock-out to save my crankshaft thrust bearings and try to remember to ALWAYS have the trans in neutral when starting Vette. Back up light switch mounts to the side cover and is acuated by a linkage rod, all parts are avalibe re-production but, expensive.

That's what I did.

Rather than the expensive replacements, you can fab a bracket and use a $10.00 switch from your local parts store.

The wiring is actually there in the harness for the neutral safety switch. The harness has both the auto and 4 speed wiring in it. You would just have to get the switch and plug it into the harness.
Yes the backup light wiring can just be extended

hey thanks guys.. i found a switch and bracket on the hurst web site for 24 bucks that looks like it would work well, mounts right to the shifter. the clutch switch is still on the pedals i got so maybe i can have both function with out a lot of trouble.. is there a plug up in the dash near the pedals for the switch or would i have to splice into the harness some where?

The plug up under the dash will work fine to plug the switch into.
