i was looking at a speed demon carb. the price is 950.00 canadian..PART #1402010.. can anyone give me a price in american at your local speed shops around the town your in...anyone swapped a holley 750 double pumper on a 454 for one of these demons?? what were the results..big difference...worth the money??"?? thanks guys :chevy
Get ahold of MountainMotor I think that he commented that they were pretty expensive for the potential hp gain that you may receive. He recommended that we stick to the Holley setup. See you Saturday did you check the price at Cdn. Tire I got their performance catalogue but no prices in it.
I know that the exchange rate was 1.50 CD = 1.00 USD. But why would a speed demon be twice over as much as a SummitRacing price? Unless your also adding in Russell steel braded hoses with AN fittings.
I do not know for sure, but the guys who have Demons claim that they flow more CFM than listed. Some of the car mags. have show 20+ hp over an equivolent holley dp.

I would tend to agree with that...Especially since they are roughly double the cost of the holley

Dude...I don't know where you buy your parts but the Speed Demon 750 mechanical (1402010) is $439 and the Holley (#4779) 750 mechanical is $357 at Summit!!!
That's "roughly" only 23% more not 100%!! I'd take 10-20 more HP for $80 ANY day!

That tells me the wrong Holley was used for comparison in testing if true.I have not seen conclusive evidence that a 750 cfm Demon DP will outrun a 750 Holley 4779.I will try to keep an open mind about it though. He He!
The Demons are nice I will grant that but the carb book has not been rewritten with their introduction.
CFM of flow is just that.CFM of flow. The difference will lay in the circuitry of the carb it's self.
Man you guys in Canada have to pay way more per HP gained don't you?The duties and stuff to get parts over the Border need to be circumvented somehow. Can you recieve expensive parts as a gift to get by without paying out the nose?
