my acc pump wasn't working.. I dissembled nice blue cup now damage reassemble to best of my knowledge.. worked fine for a couple of drives.. quit working again.. my question should the blue seal fit over a shoulder of somekind on the white plastic piece to keep everything in the right place or what else could be causing my problem..thx
Be sure the acc pump is your problem. Look down the primary bores and pull the throttle linkage. You should see two strong squirt gun like streams.
If the streams are weak or sputter, the pump itself may be broken. I had this same frustration of replacing the cup, and still having problems. Then I took a close look at the pump rod assembly and saw the plastic part was cracked. You can buy a performance pump by Edelbrock fairly cheap at most auto parts stores.
Another possibility is that the pump channels are clogged. Did you force cleaning fluid/ compressed air through all passeges when you rebuilt?
There is no squirt.. I did wonder about forcing fluid thru passages but wasn't sure what fluid, where to put it, how to compress it.. But the fellow that rebuilt the carb said he did that.. that was a year ago it worked good then quit working a few months later..
