Mixing New With Old...Help Requested
I bought the GM 350HO Crate engine for my 1977 Corvette project car. One item that has perplexed me (among many I assure you) is what to do about the engine temperature and oil pressure sending units of old, versus the newer style units.
Will a temp sending unit from a 94 (small threads) work with my 77?
Will a 77 replacement pressure sending unit work with my new engine?
I have learned now that when being asked what car I have and what engine it has in it for purposes of online buying of new parts I have to be careful not to send the wrong message. The new crate engine has Vortec heads which, it appears, is reason to ask for what parts work best. I am modifying the engine and the steering, but keeping the interior pretty much stock, hence my questions.
Anyone out there got enough Vortec experience in an 76, 77, 78 to help me sort this out?

David, I haven't done this swap yet, but have been planning it, so here is what i will do. For the temp sender, I will enlarge the hole in the head with a drill and NPT tap to accept the original sender.
I believe the original oil pressure sender will fit.
