73 engine id breakdown help
Hi, I am about to buy a 73 vette. the vin number and the left side of the motor match ok it seems. 13Sxxxxxx followed by larger size V0719CLA.
There is the question. What is the V? I read it should be F or T but somewhere I saw a breakdown list that had a third plant and I cannot find that site any more. Is the V a replacement block?

V=Flint engine plant, which is correct. July 19(0719), 1973 is when the motor was assembled.

Looks like you have a 190 hp w turbo 400 automatic. Made in Flint engine plant. Yeah, the Corvette History web page (and others) incorrectly list F as the Flint engine code prefix.
