Default Hazard lights - '72

Trying to fix the hazard lights on a '72. They work, but they are very faint (rear tail lights, front directionals and inside directional arrows are all very dull...you can hardly see them flashing). Any idea what the issue could be and how to fix it?

I should also mention that all the above mentioned lights work fine and are nice and bright when using the directionals....it's just dim when turning on the hazards.

Thanks,
Paul

Did you try changing the flasher? Also inspect the wires for the flasher and the rest of the hazard warning system. Particularly the ground wire(s). You should find the flasher under the lower dash panel on the passenger side.

I thought the flasher behind the passenger dash was for the directionals, and it was the flasher on top of the fuse panel that was for hazards. But I agree that the flasher relay is the most likly culprit.

You are right...there is a second flasher on the fuse panel. I replaced that one and it fixed the problem. I didn't realize the '72 had two separate flashers. I figured it out when i disconnected the other flasher on the passenger side and the hazzards were still operating. 3 dollar fix .

There are actually 3. There is one for the alarm system in the rear passenger side storage compartment.
