I finished tracing down a faulty ign switch, replaced it, was putting everything back together, I decided to test the tach, lights, etc. before I button it up and found that the tach would power up normal (resting at 0 rpm), but the needle does not move when increasing the rpm; just sits at zero.
?Is there a way to check (verify) the signal coming from the tach. I checked the actual wire for continutiy, and it tests good?

Try bypassing the tach filter and see if this corrects the problem. Your problem is no signal from the distributor.
