Spider Gear setup specs needed, please respond
Hello,
I need the backlash setting for the spider gears for a 76 diff. We are replacing the clutch pack and need to reshim the gears because with the new clutchs everything is too tight. So, if you know, or have a rebuild manual (it is not in the service manual) would you please let me know. Thank you, Dan

Check the overhaul manual they cover the rear end and posi rebuilding the service manual doesn't. Under the Eaton section it lists .001-.008' for the backlash-same spec's as the rear beairng end play! :crazy:
