I have power brakes on my 65 and manual brakes on my 69. I much prefer the power brakes, but you get used to the manuals as your right leg gets stronger.

It all depends on what you're used to. My '69 has manual. I had a '71 that had power brakes. Honestly, I prefer the power, but I'm fine with the manual and the effort it would take to convert the "69 to power just doesn't seem worth it.

Mine came with manual brakes too.I heard of people going from power to manual, its usually the other way around,is there any advantage having manual brakes, it seems like power would be better.

Power brakes will provide a much more effortless pedal feel than manual brakes, as long as it's a stock or mildly modified motor with good manifold vacuum to run the booster. For track days, I prefer manual brakes. I get a better feel for what the brake are really doing. Dropping down to a 7/8" bore master cylinder like Wilwood P/N 260-9439 and making sure the pushrod clevis is in the hole closest to the pedal pivot will give a slightly softer pedal feel with more leverage to make a lot of pressure with comfortable pedal effort. For the street, I like their BP-10 compound pads, and for track days, I step up to the PolyMatrix E compound. This combiantion gives great pedal feel and instant repsonse, w/o the trouble and higher expense of installing the booster. The other advatage to manual brakes is that your wife or girlfriend are less likely to want to drive the car.

Most of the fast autocrossers use manual brakes and STICKY pads, I am going to convert my 70 LT-1 to power for my wife but, she does OK with the manual brakes right now.
