Default Q-Jet choke question

When I put the choke on (when cold) manually or just pull the linkage to set the choke, then apply vacuum on the pulloff, the vacuum valve moves through the full range and stops, but nothing changes in the choke position. Am I missing a part here or something? Where is the vacuum supposed to acutate something? It appears that the little lever on the pulloff might just barely touch the other metal rods. Is it supposed to push this through the full range?

There's a choke pulloff measurement (I think 7/32 but that may just be my imagination) The Haynes manual has the info. The screw on the pulloff adjusts the choke opening space when vacuum is applied to the pulloff. Spring applies pressure to close the choke and the pulloff opens the choke blade a certain % to give you air mixture depending on temperature. Lars should be able to give you exact numbers.

When cold, the choke should be 100% closed, the vacuum pulloff then opens the blade per your measurement screw. Oh yeah, use a drill bit to get accurate measurement. And don't drop it down the carb  :smash:
