backup/neutral safety switch

backup/neutral safety switch
Quick questions for those who have been there:
1-will the orignal backup switch & bracket simply bolt on and plug in (and then work ) on my 69. It now has a Richmond 5 speed installed.
2-I have a neutral safety switch on my clutch, I have discovered two Purple wires in the harness near the e-brake. I am assuming these are for an automatics neutral switch (?) If thats the case should put in a jump wire and close the circuit.
