1971 Alternator Bracket
I have a 1971 and it came with the "F" type 2 piece bracket. What a piece of junk. The alternator twists when I tension the belt an squeels most of the time. I also do not like how it bolts to the header bolts. The "F" Bracket ended up breaking. I have tried Ecklers, Mid-America, Summit, Jegs, Zip, and Corvette America for a replacement and they all seem to say the "F" type is for 1968 and earlier. The ones for the 1971 do not look anything like I would expect to fit Does anyone have any ideas or pictures, or brand names you have had success with? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think this bracket is from a 71. This the one you saw on the vendors site? I went with this on my 68 because I was tired of the POS F-bracket flexing when the engine was running

Here's mine. An older set of Hedman headers but it's the correct bracket. Mine were slightly out of alignment causing unneccessary wear on the alternator. Phillips Automotive near Redmond, WA made the adjustment for me. Knew it was wrong when he first looked at it. Something about headers on the sb350. Several brackets will bolt on but only one is correct for fitment, depending. Good luck!
